Jeon Hye-jin Returns to Small Screen as a “Working Mom” Following Farewell to the Late Lee Sun-kyun

“Riding Life” (directed by Kim Chul-gyu, written by Sung Yoon-ah and Jo Won-dong, planned by KT Studio Genie, produced by Betty & Creators) captures the intense yet heartfelt lives of three generations in Daechi-dong. It tells the story of Jung Eun, a passionate working mom preparing her daughter for the so-called “7-year-old entrance exam”. She enlists her own mother, Ji-ah, to handle the hectic academy rides. The “7-year-old entrance exam” is a newly coined term referring to admission tests for prestigious English academies. The drama humorously and vividly portrays the competitive world of early childhood private education.

The character posters reveal the diverse perspectives and thoughts of the three women, adding intrigue to the storyline. Jung Eun (played by Jeon Hye-jin), a passionate working mom who doesn’t want to sacrifice her career or her daughter’s education, Ji-ah (played by Jo Min-soo), who reluctantly takes on the task of shuttling her granddaughter to academies, and Jung Eun’s adorable daughter Hong Seo-yoon (played by Kim Sa-rang) each express their unique emotions through lively emoticons.
Jeon Hye-jin showcases the busy life of a working mom, rushing from her office to her parenting duties. The tagline “Mom will be there soon, just wait” captures her hectic routine and hints at her deep commitment to her daughter’s education.
Jo Min-soo, with the caption “Does being a mom mean you know everything?” and a bewildered expression, hints at the tension between the mother and daughter. Ji-ah, as she dives into the world of academy rides with her granddaughter, finds herself reflecting on her own parenting days and her relationship with her daughter.
Child actress Kim Sa-rang, playing Jung Eun’s daughter Hong Seo-yoon, radiates charm with her innocent smile and the line “I’ll do whatever Mom loves”, showcasing her adorable and spirited presence. Acting as the bridge between Jung Eun and Ji-ah, Kim Sa-rang’s role as Seo-yoon hints at the emergence of a promising new child star.

The production team of “Riding Life” stated, “The synergy between the trustworthy actresses Jeon Hye-jin and Jo Min-soo, along with the child actress Kim Sa-rang, will exceed expectations. By shedding light on the early childhood private education scene not seen in previous dramas, we’ve created a story that’s 200% relatable to reality. Please look forward to the premiere with great anticipation.”
Genie TV’s original drama “Riding Life” will premiere on Monday, March 3 at 10 PM on Genie TV and ENA.
Meanwhile, Jeon Hye-jin’s husband Lee Sun-kyun passed away on December 27, 2023.
